The value of the global commercial seaweed market in 2021 was around USD 17.85 billion according to a recent forecast that suggests it will grow to almost USD 25 billion by 2028.

Asia Pacific is expected to be the fastest-growing region for the global market due to increased market demand and abundant seaweed production in the region, but there is strong growth in North America and Europe

Industry

Industries using seaweed in their products include pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foodstuffs, textiles, plastics and agriculture. There are also industries dedicated to clearance and harvesting.

Growth

The CAGR rate of the global seaweed industry is forecast by Polaris Market Research to be 10.50% up to 2030. The Phycology Fund is expected to grow at a similar rate with diverse investments into the breadth of industries
